Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:

 * 1 box macaroni pasta

 * 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

 * 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

 * 4 cups milk

 * 1 teaspoon salt

 * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

 * 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

 * 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Kitchen Tools Needed:

 * Large pot

 * Medium saucepan

 * Measuring cups and spoons

 * Whisk

Instructions:

 * Cook the Pasta:

   * Cook the macaroni pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

 * Make the Cheese Sauce:

   * Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

   * Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

   * Gradually whisk in the milk, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly.

 * Combine Cheese and Pasta:

   * Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted and smooth.

   * Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to coat.

 * Serve:

   * Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
